Travel

Event site at Stuttgart
The event will take place at the Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme (IRS) in Stuttgart, Germany.

Access to the site
Access to the DLR site is via the main entrance and is only possible with a valid identity card or passport. Driving licences, student or residence permits are not accepted. You will receive a visitor's pass at the DLR gate, which must be worn visibly throughout your visit to DLR and returned to the DLR gate before leaving the DLR premises. Please note that photography and filming are not permitted on the DLR premises in Stuttgart.

Arrival by car from motorway
Take the A831 motorway from the Stuttgarter Kreuz junction in the direction of Stuttgart, S-Zentrum. Take the "Universität" exit and turn left at the first set of traffic lights. Raumfahrtzentrum Baden-Württemberg ❯ Universität Stuttgart

Arrival by train from Stuttgart Main Station
From Stuttgart main station, go down the stairs to the S-Bahn (marked with a green S). Take one of the lines S1, S2 or S3 in the direction of Herrenberg, Filderstadt or Flughafen. Get off at the fourth stop "Universität". Leave the S-Bahn station via the "Universitätszentrum" staircase. The quickest route from the S-Bahn to the IRS is marked in red on the map of the IRS.

Buy a ticket for one zone at one of the ticket machines. Information on the exact departure times and prices of the S-Bahn can be found on the website of the VVS transport association.

Arrival by plane from Stuttgart airport
From Stuttgart Airport, go down the stairs to the S-Bahn (marked with a green S). Take one of the lines S2, S3 in the direction of Schorndorf or Backnang. Get off at the 7th stop "Universität". Leave the S-Bahn station via the "Universitätszentrum" staircase. The quickest route from the S-Bahn to the IRS is marked in red on the map of the IRS (see below).

Buy a ticket for 2 zones at one of the ticket machines. Information on the exact departure times and prices of the S-Bahn can be found on the website of the VVS transport association.

Alternatively, a taxi takes you in 30 minutes from Stuttgart airport to DLR Stuttgart.
